With the great courage and wisdom politically and artistically, the book Educated Youths takes “tragedy” and “nobility” as the main perspectives, has fully described a group of educated youth. One commendable characteristic of the book is that it doesn’t avoid talking about the absurd “Cultural Revolution”, the author has done a good job  in describing the heavy historical background. Standing against the real time background, the author tells us the stories of a large  number  of educated youth representatives including Zhao Shuguang, Zhao Tianliang and Zhou Ping who didn’t give up the essence and bottom principles of being a human, strove to change the situation, help their companions and create benefit for the common people by hard work.
