    美国西雅图华盛顿大学比较文学博士，中华民国英美文学学会监事长，台湾西洋古典、中世纪暨文艺复兴研究学会副理事长，现任高雄医学大学语言与文化中心讲座教授，国立中山大学外文系合聘教授。研究领域为英国中古暨文艺复兴文学研究、中西比较文学、文学与宗教、宫廷文化与抒情诗。着有《西域史地释名》、《文学、宗教、性别和民族：中古时代的英国、中东、中国》、《欧洲传奇文学风貌》，译注《亚瑟王之死》等书。主编《余光中先生七十寿庆论文集》、《诗歌天保：余光中先生八十寿庆论文集》。
